Client brief
Our client wanted to develop modern beautiful units on historic Hoxton Square. The heating and cooling needed to be discrete within the property. Better Planet were engaged to incorporate a sustainable system that would be comfortable, reduce running costs and future proofed.
Our solution
Better Planet designed and installed a comprehensive Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) system centered around Nibe technology. The solution utilized a variable-speed compressor and weather-compensated controls to optimise performance.
Heating and cooling in the flat is distributed via Fan Coil Units (FCU). Depending on space and cost constraints for each flat, the units were either recessed or wall hung. In any case, they deliver consistent heat and cool to inhabitants.
Why Consider Fan Coil Units?
- Dual Functionality: FCUs allow the Nibe F2050 to provide effective active cooling during summer months, and heating during the winter.
- Zoned Control: FCUs are ideal for small to medium spaces where individual room temperature control is required.
- Energy Efficiency: They allow for low-temperature operation, matching the high efficiency of the Nibe heat pump.
Project success
The installation was completed in December 2025. The project achieved high performance metrics and full regulatory certification, ensuring long-term reliability for the client.
