Founded in 2004, we are a leading installer of renewables. We specialise in designing and installing sustainable systems, including ground and air source heat pumps, solar PV panels, underfloor heating, and MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery). As an accredited member of the government’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), we are committed to delivering high-quality installations, maximising performance, and above all making sure our customers are happy!

The technologies

Air source heat pump
Air source heat pumps capture thermal energy from the air to heat your property. They are suitable for flats, homes and commercial premises.
Ground source heat pump
Ground source heat pumps use horizontal or vertical collectors to capture geothermal energy from the ground. They are more efficient than air source heat pumps, but are more expensive.
Solar PV
Solar panels allow you to generate electricity for your property, harnessing the power of the sun. They reduce your electricity bills
Battery storage
Store surplus electricity, often generated from solar panels or from cheap night tariffs, for use when you need it most. This technology helps maximise energy efficiency and reduce reliance on the grid.
MVHR
A system that improves indoor air quality by extracting stale air, recovering heat from it, and bringing in fresh, filtered air, ensuring a healthier and more energy-efficient home.
Underfloor heating
Provides a comfortable, evenly distributed heat source by running warm water beneath your floors, making it an ideal partner for heat pumps.

Speak with a sales engineer
Our friendly sales engineers will discuss your needs and goals, providing expert advice on the best renewable energy solutions for your home or business. This initial consultation helps us understand your property and preferences.
Room by room heat loss calculation
A detailed heat loss survey ensures the proposed system is the right size for your property. This step calculates how much heat your space loses and determines the capacity of the heat pump or other systems needed to keep you warm efficiently.
Proposal and quote
You’ll receive a clear and comprehensive proposal outlining the recommended solution(s), including costs, expected benefits, and the installation process. This step allows you to review and approve the final design.
System design by our building services engineers
Our experienced building services engineers create a bespoke system design tailored to your property’s specifications. This includes ensuring compatibility with existing building and optimising energy efficiency.
Installation
Our qualified engineers install your system. Whether it’s a heat pump, underfloor heating, or solar PV, we’ll ensure everything is set up to the highest standards.
Commissioning
Once installed, we commission the system to ensure it operates efficiently and safely. This includes a comprehensive handover explaining how to use the system and maximise its performance.
The Better Planet team is on hand to support you with your new system.
Ongoing servicing
We offer an annual servicing contract to look after your system, and to ensure it continues to run efficiently.

Air source heat pump, solar PV and battery storage for a property in London
Better Planet was selected to design, supply, install, and commission a fully integrated air source heat pump and solar PV system for a detached property in East London. The homeowner sought an energy-efficient solution to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, cut energy costs, and increase the property’s resilience to power cuts.

Serpentine lake boat house
Better Planet was selected to install a brine-to-water heat pump for the Boat House in Hyde Park. The thermal energy is collected from the Serpentine Lake by pond mats. The heating is distributed by underfloor heating. We were also instructed to include active cooling for the summer months.
