How does it work?
Why invest in a solar PV panels? How does it work? Our solar PV panels Why buy from Better Planet?
Factors that need to be taken into consideration before installing
solar panels include:

  1.     Orientation of the panels; south facing  is the optimum
  2.     The angle of the panels; a pitched roof is ideal
  3.     Ensuring the panels are not shaded by any obstruction

The solar panels consist of individual solar cells.  Each cell how two semiconducting layers: the negatively charged layer (n-type) and the positively charged layer (p-type).  As daylight hits the solar cells, the free electrons in the n-type layer move towards the p-type layer.  This flow of electrons produces an electric current.
The electricity generated by a PV system is DC (direct current).  An inverter transforms this to AC (alternating current) to make it compatible with mains electricity.  Any excess electricity you generate during the day is sold back to your electricity company.
